iDigi is a Digi International Brand
6 Pillars of iDigi
Device Connectivity: iDigi utilizes a device integration protocol that includes the ability to send and retrieve data in a variety of ways. This open protocol is available at no charge to any device manufacturer. It includes many standard functions as well as functions that are specific to the iDigi Device Cloud.
Scalability: iDigi is architected to provide elastic use of resources so expansion of registered devices does not require planned expansion and lead time of cloud resources. Not only is iDigi architected to support this elastic scalability, Digi systems assurance organization conducts large-scale use case testing to validate the elasticity of the cloud for increasingly larger numbers of connected devices and load.
Application Integration: To access iDigi, developers have access to a variety of application programming interfaces: iDigi General Management API, iDigi Energy API and iDigi Dia API. The APIs are available on the iDigi Developer Cloud, a non-production cloud used for integration and performance testing.
Reliability: The metric of reliability of the cloud is total availability of service as measured by the annual percentage of up-time. This does not include downtime as part of regularly scheduled maintenance purposes. iDigi is operated at the same service availability as broadcast media networks.
Performance: Measurement of the actual and projected transactional throughput performance of iDigi is an actively monitored metric. Device applications are read-intensive solutions, therefore the number of Device Reads per Second (DRPS) is the leading device cloud indicator of the throughput requirements.
Security: iDigi's security and privacy office has created the iDigi security policy using 164 controls that are based upon the CSA, ISO27002, NERC CIP, PCI and HIPPA standards. The controls are enforced with active monitoring tools and verified with policy compliance audits.
